This was the case with a patent for a gas molecule made from a structurally altered water molecule, filed Sept. 28, 2021, and approved on July 12. Having a patent for your invention does not guarantee its commercial success, according to Dennis Crouch, co-director of the Center for Intellectual Property & Entrepreneurship in Mesquite.
